“ I'm new to the city and Handlebar is quickly becoming one of my regular haunts. Especially on Wednesdays (karaoke night- the energy is electric!). Every time I visit, the staff are outstanding. Bartenders serve you quickly and mix a good cocktail, and the bouncer is such a warm personality but also on the ball. I've seen him gracefully remove people who were way too drunk and made other guests uncomfortable. I visit as a solo woman and I've never had anything short of a safe, fun time. The other patrons are friendly and weird and always down to strike up conversation. Bar decor is cozy and eclectic. Love this place! ”

“ the best open mic in town (Tuesday nights start at 8ish). Some serious talent there! If I was a scout looking for the next music star(s) I would definitely hang out there a lot! Very professionally organised, the show runs smoothly, awesome musicians. Good selection of beer, on tap and cans. not that much in terms of eating, but you can bring food from another venue (and Kensington Market has so much to offer in terms of take out). Highly recommended. True magic happens there. ”
